Our commonly used cooling fans are mainly DC cooling fans and AC cooling fans. Before choosing, we need to understand what are the main differences between these two different cooling fans?
Different air volume:
For cooling fans of the same size, the AC cooling fan has a large motor and short blades. The DC cooling fan is just the opposite. The blade length motor is small, so the air flow per unit area is large, and the air volume is larger, and the heat dissipation can be better.
The principle is different:
The power supply of the AC cooling fan is communication, and the power supply voltage changes sinusoidally. However, the power supply voltage of the DC cooling fan is fixed and must rely on circuit control to make the two sets of coils work in turn to generate different magnetic fields. Because the power frequency of the communication cooling fan is fixed, the speed of the magnetic pole change of the silicon steel sheet is determined by the power frequency. The higher the frequency, the faster the magnetic field switching speed. Theoretically, the speed will be faster, just like a DC cooling fan with more poles, the faster the speed. The principle is the same. However, the frequency should not be too fast, too fast will cause difficulty in activation. All our computer radiators use DC fans. In general, a good cooling fan mainly investigates the air volume, speed, noise, length of service life, and what type of fan blade bearing is used.
Different materials:
The outer frame of the AC cooling fan is generally an aluminum frame, while the outer frame of the DC cooling fan is a plastic frame. The ability to withstand high temperatures is different, and the fan that communicates heat dissipation is better.
